After years of the "you-again?" bedtime routine, I started looking for ways to help my son switch off and settle into sleep. Guided mindfulness for kids was a lifesaver - but they usually made me cringe. Years later... with a failed mindfulness start-up and a successful kids book under my belt, I'm combining my skills to create something that I hope will be a kids' and parents' favourite tool for bedtime calm.
I'm a science journalist and children's author. My career has covered everything from Antarctic science to guided meditations. My first kids' book, Saving Wānanga, released in 2024, made the best kids' book lists for The Spinoff, The Listener and The Sapling. This audio series combines my love of science, nature and wellbeing with my experiences as the parent of a slightly wild boy who took ages to sooth into sleep mode.
